EFTR of a well differentiated neuroendocrine tumor of the terminal ileum
Poster Abstract

Abstract Text

A 49-year-old woman with PSC and UC underwent screening colonoscopy which revealed an 8 mm ileal polyp confirmed as a well-differentiated NET (grade 1). Tektrotyd and CT scans showed no metastasis. The patient refused surgical resection. A gastroduodenal FTRD was introduced into the terminal ileum over a dilated balloon and full-thickness resection was successfully achieved. Histology confirmed R0 resection of grade 1 NET. Four-month follow-up colonoscopy showed no residual malignancy. The patient is now under oncological surveillance. This is to our knowledge the first report of a successful use of FTRD in terminal ileum.
